Adidas x Dropset

we are_creative recently had the exciting opportunity to work on the Adidas Drop Set campaign with Udox Creative. The project came to life when Robert Kent from Kent and Co Productions in Cape Town reached out and brought the brilliant DOP Dillon Buirski on board to work alongside Director Jackie Bao.

 

One of the highlights of this project was the creative synergy with Jackie Bao and Adam Ball from Udox Creative. Adam’s vision was instrumental in bringing our visuals to life. We opted for one of the best camera setups: the Alexa Mini paired with Carl Zeiss Super Speeds. Our amazing steadicam operator, Karl Schmidt, added dynamic movement to every shot.

 

The content will soon be showcased live on Adidas’ homepage in banners, and we couldn’t be more excited. One of the standout features of our shoot was the one-shot technique we employed, which the clients loved. We were also fortunate to have Grant Forbes, seasoned veteran Gaffer whose expertise was invaluable.

 

The location was a beautiful gym in Woodstock, Cape Town, basked with natural daylight streaming through skylights and north-facing windows. This setting allowed us to play with light and experiment with a mirror technique, creating unique and abstract visual contrasts. It was an innovative approach that added a fresh and exciting dimension to the campaign.
