Armani x Beauty
Dillon Buirski shoots Digital campaign for Armani,
stills and video
In the realm of creative endeavors, there are moments that stand out as career-defining, and for our team, the opportunity to work with Armani Beauty was nothing short of a dream realized. The journey unfolded when MR FILMS, led by the visionary Executive Producer Earl Redcliffe, extended an invitation to Dillon Buirski, Director and DOP, that would lead to a mesmerizing collaboration for the enitre campaign, resulting in a 30-second online film and a stills campaign that echoes the essence of Armani Beauty.
Our pitch, crafted with passion and precision, secured not only the directorial role but also the opportunity to lens the stills for this groundbreaking campaign. The prospect of marrying the visual allure of Armani Beauty with the majestic backdrop of Maiden Cove in Camps Bay ignited our creative spirits.
We took armani to the beach.
The excitement was palpable as our amazing team members delved into the creative process, aiming to capture not just beauty but an interplay of landscapes and sculptural body aesthetics against the canvas of iconic South African landmarks. It’s like art meets adventure, and we think we nailed it.
We were armed with a trusty Blackmagic 6k Pro with a killer DZO Film 20-55mm lens. Let’s not forget the stills! Shot with a Canon R6, 24-70mm, 70-200mm. The perfect combo for capturing that Armani elegance in every pixel. Shoutout to Pablo Ponting for working magic in post, and Dan Tucker for weaving film wonders at Weare Post.
Anticipation fills the air as we eagerly await the widespread presence of our campaign in shopping malls throughout the nation. The prospect of witnessing the seamless execution and expansive reach of this production across various channels is truly exhilarating.
What made this gig even more epic? Armani Beauty saying, “Africa, we choose you!” It’s not just a campaign; it’s a love letter to the beauty of the African continent. Armani, you stole our hearts! Let’s raise a virtual toast to Armani, our Parisian clients and the best crew in Cape Town.
This venture marks a remarkable chapter as we witness the African continent’s commitment to self-investment, with acclaimed global brands like Armani providing a canvas for delivering innovative campaigns across Africa. The ascent of Africa is a source of unparalleled excitement, and we are immensely grateful to be an integral part of this unprecedented growth.
A heartfelt thank you extends to Armani and our esteemed clients in Paris for gracing Cape Town with their presence and experiencing firsthand the magic of this exceptional production. We sincerely hope that every moment was enjoyed, contributing to the collective celebration of creativity, growth, and collaboration.
