This year has been rough – there is no doubt we’ve all felt it! There’s a lot to be said about people facing adversity and coming out stronger though – and 2020 has definitely defined how we approach challenges. Take our directors for example, who have created opportunities to hone in on their craft and used their time to flex those directing muscles and emerge from this weird year with portfolios second to none.

From a background in fashion, Dillon has never let an opportunity to create magic on screen slip him by. As you’ll see from the nominated films in various categories, we are_ not the only ones that think his work speaks volumes, and we can not wait to see what new amazing films, campaigns, content, music videos and TVC’s he will come up with next!

The last year has proven that Michael’s tongue-in-cheek approach to filmmaking is not to be overlooked. With a portfolio showcasing the incredible versatility this young filmmaker brings to any project, he has taken this time of lockdown to explore all kinds of avenues, including a TVC for News24, some social pieces for Monster Energy, a beautiful music video (yet to be released!) and some pieces for Game.

Maxime is, and has always been, a female filmmaker force to be reckoned with. Her approach to create stories that remain with the viewer long after they’ve watched her films, has always been one of honesty, with a healthy dose of creative flair (second to none!). Constantly chasing creative projects to dig her teeth into, she has not taken this lockdown lying down. Collaborating with Amy Ayanda on her newest music video ‘Beginners’, as well as putting her spin on Neutrogena’s latest online content are just two of the projects she’s brought to life during the pandemic.
